Talked to my radiology oncologist today. She was calling at the request of my oncologist(who I will be talking to on Friday). There’s progression on my left acetabulum(lower pelvis) with a small fracture and also in my lower spine. She offered up more radiation and/or cementing the fracture. After a discussion about not being sure if I can handle another dose of radiation and because I’m not in any pain, we both decided to just hold off on it all and see what happens. She’s also going to check and see if a nerve was involved in the radiation and could be the cause of my foot swelling.
This all just sucks. It means the Capesidebine isn’t working or isn’t working enough. I’m kinda lost right now. I mean, I expect all of this to happen but expecting it and actually living it are 2 different things. I’m going to have to be more careful with lifting, pulling etc so the fracture doesn’t grow and I don’t make new ones.
Each changing stage of this “living while dying” seems to need a new mindset. Until I talk to my oncologist I’ll just try to live with the idea of a new fracture.
