So apparently I’m text book for the side effects I have from this drug combination for chemo. For once I like being part of the crowd. Less unknowns that way. The oncologist says there’s no guarantee the side effects will be less harsh, sometimes they’re more but a person’s tolerance increases and knowing what it’s like helps too. On the good side, this drug combo doesn’t usually cause vomiting. He has also got me taking the steroids for 5 days longer to try and alleviate the bone pain. Hopefully it will work. He laughed at my 5% theory and said it doesn’t work that way.
There was only one nurse on today, and six chemo patients, a little unusual since last time there was 3 nurses. My blood tests were normal as were my blood pressure and temperature. She seemed a little surprised by that. I guess stress and anxiety don’t increase my blood pressure. Who knew? She was a little busy but not overrun with stuff. She did get my sister to put on the ice gloves and change them and get me a warm blanket.
Now I get to sit back and wait for the side effects, and oh how I am so not the waiting kind.
