all over

Every where I go there are displays or reminders of the campaign for (against?) breast cancer.  I don’t think they brought this stuff out now just for me to see or because the Run For The Cure is coming up.  I think they’ve always been there.  I think I’ve either ignored them or truly never seen them.  And that makes me sad.  And angry.  Sad that it has to be displayed so prominently because it’s so prevalent.  Angry for the same reasons.

Tomorrow I see the surgeon again to pin down the next surgery date.  She says it’s Sept 1st but that’s going to be based on the plastic surgeon’s schedule.  Lets get this over with people!  I have a life I want/need to get back to.

  1. Hey Connie
It’s good to see you write this blog. It’s very healthy to voice your fears and emotions.
The waiting was hard on me and I too just wanted to get it over with. But the main thing to remember is to go on living.
I bet when you were working you wished you had more time to do things. Well you have the time now so take advantage of it.
I was lucky I could continue working as it helped distract me and I had no time to fret about it. But I did continue to do everything I did before. I was in control of my life and I wasn’t going to stop living because I had cancer. I do admit that I take life a little easier now because my priorities have shifted. Family is more important but my work is also because it is a big part of my life. I realized I love my job. I am truely blessed and if it took a bout with cancer to make me realize that then I’m richer for it. I have always said everything happens for a reason.
I too go to the surgeon tomorrow to see about getting my second breast removed and reconstruction. I still haven’t made up my mind about what course I’m taking so it will be great to get more information so I can make my choice.
i will be thinking about you and hope your appointment goes well and you too can know what your next step is.
    Love you, Bertha

    1. If I could work, I’d be a little happier, something to take up all the hours. There’s too many in a day. The decision was relatively easy for me. I wanted to lesson the chances of getting breast cancer again and I want a balanced body. Let me know how your appointment goes. Love ya!
